(More On Resistance Cont 3)
Some Factors in the Resistance to Change (4)
i) internal focus (focus on fixing internal challenges and failing to address external factors, such as customer experience, competition, changes in technology, etc)
ii) change fatigue (too many change projects happening simultaneously or in quick succession so that people become overwhelmed, ie frustrated, burn-out, etc; can negatively impact employees' engagement and productivity)
iii) lack of endurance (able to handle unforeseen circumstances that can be very disruptive; need detailed planning from day one)
iv) organisational culture (people too comfortable with the status quo; need to educate, train, etc staff; need to encourage ownership/buy-in by relevant stakeholders, especially staff)
