i) Describe the intangible value of specific activities, choices, practices and recommendations (including impact)
ii) Explain the context of best decision-making so that able to make good choices
iii) Prioritise opportunities and challenges that the conversation
v) Create a safe space for discussions on uncomfortable issues, like emotions
vi) Gently with respect and concern undercover issues that need discussing
vii) Let the client control the speed and direction of the conversation so that arrive at the best solution
viii) Use 'what's in it for me' (WIIFM) to encourage self-discovery and reinforced with follow-up questions
ix) Don't manipulate; rather encourage the client to take control
