Self-criticism
Introduction
Self-criticism can be either negative or positive:
- negative self-criticism (evidenced by harsh judgements about yourselves or focusing on your perceived flaws and mistakes, often unconsciously)
- positive self-criticism (involves on a self-reflection, learning from mistakes and setting realistic goals.
"...by developing these constructive behaviours into habits , we can acknowledge areas where we don't feel our strongest and use it as springboard for improvement and growth rather than being held back by them..."
Seph Fontane Pennock, 2024a)
It is important to develop the habit of positive self-criticism and reduce negative self-criticism.
