More on Mindsets (cont.)

Introduction
As change can be hard, complex, fast, not easy nor straightforward, uncomfortable with painful feelings and emotions, etc we need to have the right mindset. You need to think beyond your current ways of thinking, ie series, approaches, models, methodologies, techniques and tools, etc as these can be unsuccessful and only add to your frustration.

Changing mindsets
One way to do this is called design thinking; it involves:
"...- observation
     - analysis
     - ideation
     - creative and critical thinking
     - sketching and drawing
     - communicating
     - prototyping, and
    - testing..."
BehNaz Gholami, 2023

This involves the need to
"...Improve our ability to successfully manage change because it enables us to interrogate and address dynamic and 'wicked problems..."
BehNaz Gholami, 2023

Wicked problems our social or cultural problems that are very hard to change for the following reasons
"...- incomplete or contradictory knowledge
     - large number of people or opinions involved
     - significant economic burden
     - interconnected nature of these problems with other problems..."
BehNaz Gholami, 2023

Change is regarded as a wicked problem.
Usually with wicked problems you don't necessarily know what the problem is and how to handle it.
This is different to tame or traditional problems where we have well-defined problems, available data and potential solution(s).
"...no matter which methodology we use, we cannot solve your problems with a linear tame problem-solving mindset. Therefore, we cannot treat a change as a controllable project, as if we have the data of all the unknown, values, and we know all connections..."
BehNaz Gholami, 2023
