Common Management Errors (117, 118, 119 & 120)

Cxvii) not handling the attitude 'we've-seen-all-this before' response to change that encourages people to ignore the change as not relevant.
Cxviii) 'shoot the messenger of bad news' when it should be 'let's listen to the message'. 'Shoot the messenger' approach is based on fear and means that bad news doesn't reach the appropriate managers; only the good news goes to managers. Good decision-making requires considering all the news, ie good and bad.
Cxix) Understanding what you don't know and need to know (eg determine early in the change planning how you will measure success. This can be problematic as many unknowns.)
Cxx) Too often change is thought of as people are informed of the change; this is followed by some training; and soon afterwards they 'go live'.
