Technique 1.175 The Brief Cope Inventory
Introduction
This is a shortened version of the next technique Proactive Coping Inventory.
It is designed to capture an individual's ability to cope with stress in highly adaptive ways.
Coping refers to the mechanisms to reduce psychological stress. These mechanisms can be good (like emotional support from friends) and bad (emotional eating or smoking or drug use)
The way you respond with coping can vary depending on the type of stressor, your character traits, specific environment, support networks, your life experiences, your expertise, etc.
Furthermore, you can change as you develop just because
"...we responded to one scenario in one way, doesn't mean we react to it the same way if it happens again......your coping strategies and styles can develop and change over time, as you grow, learn and develop through your experiences..."
