Resilience (personality traits)

Introduction
As life is never easy or predictable; hard times are inevitable. You need resilience to handle these hard times

Personality traits of resilient people (8)

i) keep expectations realistic (resilience means more than acting like nothing's wrong and remaining cheerful, no matter what happens)
One needs to acknowledge the severity of their situation, yet at the same time avoid catastrophising by staying calm)

ii) use humour (humour can help you handle stress and improve mental health, ie able to laugh at yourself and your struggles

iii) use whatever is available (resourcefulness and resilience go together, ie make do with whatever is available)

iv) willing to use other's expertise and inputs (we all need support and reassurance to keep going, especially challenging times

v) have a growth-oriented mindset (focus on making the most out of every situation

vi) move on from mistakes (no point in labouring on past mistakes; better to learn from it and then focus on current and future circumstances)

vii) understand the experience of hard times (owing to their experience, resilient people have learnt the best ways to handle themselves and their problems, ie know which coping tactics work best for them)

viii) their lives have purpose and meaning (having something to live for can help greatly enduring challenging times; also,
