Seven Phases of Organisational Journey Map
This has been enlarged from 4 to 7 phases which are summarised below:
i) Autocratic organisation - mechanical (focus on transactional, survival or self-preservation, self-interest, control, short-term profitability; structure is autocratic; knowledge is regarded as data, etc)
ii) Hierarchical organisation - reactive (top down directions; at best benevolent; focus on a obedience, duty, support, etc; knowledge is regarded as information, etc)
iii) Institutional organisation - responsive (focus on competence, sales, financial performance, management responsibility, etc; listening to stakeholders, ie feedback; knowledge as package solutions )
iv) Interpersonal organisation - proactive (based on feedback, willingness to change approach, ie adaptive, agile and flexible; knowledge is regarded as understanding; focus on integration, wholeness, etc)
v) Collaborative organisation - interactive (focus on sharing, listening, co-creating, co-designing, etc with different stakeholders; knowledge is regarded as understanding, etc)
vi) Learning organisation - networked (focus on self-organising, collaboration, accountability, ethics, stewardship, training, etc; encourage relationships with strategic alliances and external connectedness; listening collaboratively to stakeholders; knowledge is regarded as wisdom; create learning opportunities; includes psychological safety, appreciation of differences, etc; receptiveness to new ideas, ie innovation plus experimentation and information transfer, etc; time for reflection, etc.)(for more detail, see elsewhere in the Knowledge Base)
vii) Inspired organisation - prophetic (focus on social responsibility both globally and locally; have global connections and understand interdependence; knowledge is regarded as wisdom; increasing emphasis on inclusivity, diversity,etc).
