(Eight Attributes Of Leadership Cont. 1)
2. Wisdom (to understand what is known and unknown, this includes weighing up risk and reward, searching for data or evidence as a basis for moving forward; having a growth mindset with a people's focus; linked with wisdom is 'word-to-wisdom' ratio:
"...is the number of words it takes us to add something of value in a conversation..."
Kirsten Ferguson, 2023
If you use far more words than necessary to get your point across, your word-to-wisdom ratio is low. On the other hand, if you are concise and to the point in your conversation, your word-to-wisdom ratio is high).
3. Perspective (how you interpret or assign meaning to the events, stimulus, data and situations that you daily encounter; put things in context, ie understand the ramifications of big picture issues, such as global politics, etc; it is based on analysing accurate and well-researched data; being open to ideas from others, ie seek out diverse points of views; able to accommodate many different points of view; it is highly correlated with high levels of curiosity, empathy, capability and self-awareness; keen to leave a positive legacy, ie do the right thing)
4. Capability (having a growth mindset; able to inspire others; competent; giving autonomy, empowerment, etc to others; focus on continually learning; able to handle the VUCA environment, etc)
(for more detail on VUCA, see elsewhere in the Knowledge Base)
