9. Destiny instinct

It is linked with our false generalisations/stereotypes and the gap instinct; it fits an environment that is static, ie not changing much; it supports the status quo.
However the world is not stationary; this is linked with technology. Furthermore, cultures are not static and are continually changing, although sometimes at a much slower pace than technology.
It is linked with the notions of superiority and inferiority, eg most groups regard their society as superior to all others!!!!!
NB Small annual changes can translate into a huge change over decades.
Need to continually update your knowledge as it can be outdated very quickly.
To understand how things have changed, talk with elderly people.)
