Common Change Management Errors (6 cont. b)

Co-Designing As Part Of Buy-In

It is a design-led process that uses creativity and participatory methods; there is no-one-size-fits-all.

Principles of co-designing

i) share power (as interested in ideas, not their source, need to identify and address any power imbalances)

ii) prioritise relationships (good relationships develop trust; establish a non-threatening environment;

"...You can't buy trust; it can only be earned, the better the social connections, better the process and outputs..."
Kerry Ann McKercher, 2022

iii) use participatory means (encourage people to participate in all possible ways like visual, kinaesthetic and oral approaches)

iv) build capacity (give people the skills, tools and techniques to be active participants in the process)
