Introduction

All places and all people have their own unique pedagogies.

The 8 mentioned below are just the starting point for a dialogue; they go beyond cultural awareness, sensitivity and responsiveness.

It stresses the Indigenous processes of knowledge transmission rather than content.

The mindset needs to change from 'lost' or 'dying' culture to real-life value for contemporary communities; need to move away from simplistic ideals of stimulation and 'back to basics' to a genuine respect for Aboriginal values, protocols and relationships on a systemic level.
